The concert dedicated to the memory of the great Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti will take place at the Astana Opera Chamber Hall as part of the EXPO-2017, on the occasion of the opening of the Emilia-Romagna Week. To celebrate the great opera singer from Modena on the tenth anniversary of his passing, on September 3rd at 19.00 famous Italian artists will perform the unique project Pavarotti Forever presented by Emilia-Romagna Region and the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, in co-operation with ATER – Emilia-Romagna Theatre Association and the Embassy of Italy in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The name of Luciano Pavarotti is well-known not only to fans of classical vocal art. Outstanding Italian lyrical tenor became a 20th century opera legend. Thanks to his project Pavarotti and Friends, which involved many rock and pop stars, grand maestro has made a great impact on the popularization of high art among young people. It has been ten years since the famous singer has passed away, but the memory of him continues to live on in the hearts of listeners and musicians. With this concert, colleagues and followers of Luciano Pavarotti express their love for the famous artist.
Arias and duets from the operas by G. Verdi, G. Rossini, E. De Curtis, as well as instrumental works by E. Krakamp, G. Briccialdi, L. Hugues, F. Borne, and V. De Crescenzo will be featured for the residents and guests of the capital.
This evening works from Luciano Pavarotti’s repertoire will be performed by bright vocalists: laureate of international competition Premio Vittoria Caffa Righetti Claudia Sasso (soprano, Italy), and a talented tenor from Kyrgyzstan, now living in Italy – Jenishbek Ysmanov. Laureate of the prestigious prize Pavarotti D’Oro (Golden Pavarotti) J. Ysmanov tours extensively, performing at world’s best venues.
At the piano, Paolo Andreoli (Italy), the pianist who accompanied Luciano during his lessons with his beloved students and still continues his relationship with the Foundation.
The famous flutist, Grammy Award and the Prix de Paris winner, officer of the Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana Andrea Griminelli, student of Jean-Pierre Rampal and James Galway, will present his art. According to many renowned musicians, A. Griminelli is the best flutist in the world arena today. He has performed at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York by Luciano Pavarotti’s personal invitation. This was followed by another 200 of their joined concerts around the world.
“Luciano Pavarotti was not only a great mentor, who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of my career; he has been like a father to me. With this concert, we pay homage to the great singer. For the performance at the Astana Opera, I chose several pieces that I played together with Maestro Luciano Pavarotti, and some of the operatic arias performed by him during the concerts,” said Andrea Griminelli.
